Some counties provide more information, administrative orders, etc., on their county's pages. Be sure to check both. Contact your courthouse for questions.
What do I do if my courthouse/court session was closed/canceled due to inclement weather?
Your case will be rescheduled. Generally, notification of your new court date is sent by mail. However, you may contact the clerk of court’s office of the county in which you were charged, or your attorney, on how to proceed.

On behalf of Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Carla Archie and Chief District Court Judge Roy Wiggins, we are requesting that the following information be published to the Courthouse Closings and Advisories page on NCcourts.gov in compliance with the 2018 order of the North Carolina Supreme Court: Due to incliment weather we will operate according to the 26th Judicial District Inclement Weather Policy. Due to inclement weather, all court sessions scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, are cancelled, including weddings before magistrates, with the exception of first appearance hearings scheduled in Courtroom 4330, ex parte hearings for Chapter 50B domestic violence protective orders, and juvenile detention hearings in district court, and all hearings scheduled virtually before the Clerk of Superior Court. First appearance hearings scheduled in Courtroom 4330 will be held virtually, beginning at 9:00AM, on Monday, February 2, 2026.
